Spartan Tifecta Weekend June 16-17 2024 Colorado Springs, CO

Before I dive into my amazing experience at Trifecta weekend in Colorado Springs, CO, I want to tell you about these life changing races, why I started doing them and why I will continue to compete for as long as I my can.

What is a Spartan Races?

A Spartan Race is an obstacle course race that has been specifically designed to test the physical and mental strength, endurance and resilience of its participants. Founded in 2010 by Joe De Sena, the race has gained global popularity with some of the fittest athletes in the world.

Spartan races vary in distance and difficulty. They typically range from 3 miles (5 km) to over 13 miles (21 km) and include a variety of obstacles such as:1. Walls to Climb: Different heights and configurations. 2. Mud Crawls: Under barbed wire. 3. Rope Climbs: Often over water or mud pits. 4. Heavy Carries: Sandbags, buckets, or other heavy objects. 5. Monkey Bars: And other hanging obstacles. 6. Fire Jumps: Near the finish line. 7. Spear Throws: Aimed at targets.

Spartan Races are known for promoting a culture of camaraderie, fitness, and perseverance, encouraging participants to push their limits and achieve personal goals.

There are various categories and levels, including competitive heats and open heats for all skill levels. The series also includes specialized races for children, teams, and ultra-endurance athletes.
